
Barcelona is well known by its different areas. In the centre, the Gothic quarter is one of the most famous and popular ones and the most populated. Not surprisingly, as here you will find the most enigmatic buildings, the most beautiful squares and an architectural mixture that can’t compare with anything else.
In the Ramblas themselves you can already see what the atmosphere in this area is going to be like, with monuments such as the
Palau de la Virreina or el Teatro del Liceu. If you get into the small streets on its right, you will see the Gothic area at its best.
You will see charming squares, like Plaza del Rei, hidden away and tiny, but it is worth visiting day and night when the neighbouring buildings light up. Around these streets you will find plenty of different craft shops, some sell old furniture, some sell foreign goods and souvenirs, or even the typical products made with
